My momma passed away on this day, in the morning. It was the first cma awards show that I ever missed as my momma and I always watched together even if we had to talk on the phone while we both watched from our own home. I miss her and these special people every day

Country is unrecognizable these days. I grew upon the opry on tnn on saturday nights and i used to eatch thr cpunt down rvery day on tnn after school during club dance or wild horse saloon. It was my music i did homework too

Stopped in the J&J Truckstop at Malvern, Arkansas many years ago to grab a late night snack. Maybe around 1990. Saw a bus parked at the front. Walked in and first person I see is Mr Bill Monroe.

Acts back then had more morals the way they carried there selves and not promoting sexual devency. With there butts poked up in there or there thrusting women doing this.

That’s literally the only time you’ll see Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings on stage together, just feet apart, 2 legends of Country Music. I wish they could have been friends, a duet with them would have been unbelievable.

I used to watch every single country music awards show back in these days, and before. Now, it's been at least since 2006 since I've enjoyed a country music awards show. Thanks for sharing this wonderful blast from the past.

The Viewer Mail skits are very similar to some Simpsons gag with Homer dreaming about food and Troy McClure talking to "Billy" or "Jimmy" in instructional videos.

When this had aired originally in ‘84, my oldest son was in the 2ND Grade and and my youngest daughter was an infant.
